Programme de soutien aux initiatives citoyennes de Lachine: Ideas for Your Neighbourhood!
Want to enrich your neighbourhood life? Discover the Programme de soutien aux initiatives citoyennes (a program to support residents’ initiatives) and obtain up to $12,500 in funding for your project. Three projects will be eligible in 2022.
Description
Would you like to promote residents’ participation, ecological transition, social inclusion and healthy living habits? The Programme de soutien aux initiatives citoyennes provides you with the opportunity to carry out a project that is important to you. Here are a few examples:
Events, parties, festivities, festivals or activities of limited duration:
- Organize activities for a sector of Lachine
- Gather the Lachine communities with a cultural or sports event
- Complete the municipal offerings
- Invite residents to interact, express themselves, exchange ideas
- Free of charge for the residents
A physical layout (e.g. street furniture, a play structure, …)
- Organize activities for a sector of Lachine
- Reach out to neighbouring residents and the local population
- Complete the municipal offerings
In the case of a project to develop a public space (physical layout), the Borough reserves the right to analyze the project in order to determine whether it is feasible to carry out and subsequently maintain. The cost of the development must be included in the project, with supporting documents, so that the Borough can confirm the estimates and its contribution, if necessary.
The following are excluded from this call for projects:
- Activities involving a fee for the public
- Fairs, buying shows, galas, competitions, contests, seminars and conferences, fund-raising activities
- Murals
Projects that have already been submitted in previous years may be re-submitted. In 2022, one project for every district (Fort-Rolland, J.-Émery Provost and du Canal) are elilgible for a maximum grant of $12,500 for a total budget envelope of $37,500.
How to qualify
Non-profit organizations in good standing with the various levels of government may apply.
To qualify for this program, organizations must:
- Be incorporated as a non-profit, legal entity for at least six months
- Have their head office on the territory of the city of Montreal
- Carry out the proposed project within twelve (12) months of the date of its acceptance by the Borough
- Have submitted the reports required under any programs previously funded by the Borough

How to submit an application
You may submit a project up until 10 a.m. on April 19, 2022. To do so, fill out this form and send it by email or bring it to our attention at the Maison du brasseur.
The Borough will inform you of its decision within a maximum of eight weeks following the application deadline.
Public vote among residents
May 9-19 2022, eligible projects will be put to a public vote among residents. The selected project(s) will be approved at a Council meeting, once the results have been compiled , the budget respected and the agreement signed.
