Promoting downtown through gourmet flair
Are you a non-profit organization? Do you have a culinary project to promote downtown and attract visitors? Your project may be eligible for financial assistance.
Description
This call for projects is part of the downtown strategy. Its aim is to contribute to the influence and attractiveness of downtown through the culinary arts. Its objective is to support projects that showcase gourmet food.
The call for projects has a budget of $500,000.
Accessible organizations
Your organization must meet the following criteria:
- Have your head office on the island of Montréal or carry out the majority of your activities there
- Pursue a mission that fits with the objectives of the call for projects (culinary arts, events, festivals, etc.)
- Demonstrate sound financial and governance practices
- Be legally constituted for at least 6 months, on the project’s submission date, under Part III of the Québec Companies Act or the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act
Eligible projects
What we’re looking for
Successful projects must contribute to showcasing gourmet food in downtown Montreal. They can:
- Offer culinary activities that appeal to a diverse clientele
- Highlight the culinary identity of downtown neighbourhoods
- Contribute to the vitality of downtown’s gourmet scene
- Highlight culinary projects that reflect visions of diversity and inclusion, the enhancement of the French language and eco-responsible values
- Government assistance (federal, provincial and municipal) may not exceed 80% of the cost of the project.
Project location
Projects must take place in the greater downtown area.
This area is located between Parc Jean-Drapeau to the south, Avenue Van Horne (Rosemont) to the north, Autoroute Décarie to the west and Rue d’Iberville to the east (see map).
Project dates
Projects must take place between June 1 and November 30, 2025.

Submit a project
Required documents
- Letters patent of the organization
- General by-laws
- A list of board members and their functions as well as a list of people assigned to the project and their roles (Download template - in French)
- Board resolution authorizing the organization’s representative to submit the application
- Financial statements for the past year
- Project budget (Download template - in French)
- A summary of the objectives and planned actions (Download template - in French)
- Letters of intent from partners (if applicable)
- Project presentation document, or any other document deemed relevant
Submitting your application
Projects can be received until March 17, 2025. Not all projects received after this date can be evaluated.
Announcement of winners
The selected projects will be revealed towards the end of April 2025.
Information meetings
Two information meetings will be held on the following dates:
- February 13 at 10 a.m.
- February 27 at 2 p.m.
