Gaining official recognition makes it possible to secure various forms of support, based on the status conferred and the availability of resources from the borough. Support can take the following forms:

• Administrative and bureaucratic (e.g., access to a telephone line)
• Technical (e.g., material and equipment loans)
• Rental (e.g., renting rooms and facilities)
• Promotional (e.g., publication on the borough Web site)
• Financial

1. Read the Policy on recognition and support for organizations (see below).
2. If your organization meets the eligibility criteria set out in the policy, please complete the application form and submit it to the borough, along with the documents required to ensure that it meets the recognition criteria.
3. A review committee will then review your application.

The borough adopted this policy so as to establish clear guidelines for determining which organizations are eligible for support and what forms that support may take. In addition to explaining the basis for its adoption, the policy sets out the terms, the process and the conditions for maintaining recognition.

An organization does not require recognition to initiate the following actions:

• Organize a public event in the borough
• Subscribe to insurance with the Union des municipalités du Québec

However, other procedures must be followed.
