Background

Since 1967, Sain-Laurent has been twinned with the City of Lethbridge, Alberta. Each year, an exchange trip is organized for the citizens of both communities. The age group of participants varies from year to year: they are either teenagers aged 14 to 16 or adults aged 55 and over. In 2024, teens aged 14-16 will participate in the program.

What does this exchange trip involve?

Initially, participants from Sain-Laurent are paired with those from Lethbridge, based on their common interests.

Visitors from both countries stay for a week with their twin brothers and sisters. The exchange begins with the Saint-Laurent delegation staying in Lethbridge from July 10 to 17, 2024, and continues with the Lethbridge delegation staying in Saint-Laurent from August 7 to 14, 2024.

During each of these two stays, group activities are planned to allow the participants to get to know each other and to discover the region. The program is composed of both organized activities and free time. When there are no group activities, participants are taken care of by the “twins” who host them.
