Diverse metropolis: Public consultation

Montreal submitted amendments to its By-law for a diverse metropolis for public consultation between November 22 and December 7, 2023.

After 2 years in force, some adjustments needed to be made to Montréal’s By-law for a diverse metropolis. These adjustments primarily aim to: 

  • Adapt the by-law with respect to the development of governmental social and affordable housing programs 
  • Update the amounts that are paid and requested from builders based on new property assessment values 
  • Introduce temporary measures 

Public meeting 

A public consultation meeting was held on this draft by-law on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 6 p.m. in the council chamber of the Édifice Lucien-Saulnier, located at 155 Rue Notre-Dame S Est in Montréal, Québec, H2Y 1B5. 

During this public consultation meeting, the draft by-law was explained and attendees shared their questions and comments with city representatives. Here are the minutes of the meeting:
