By observing illustrations of the Maison Le Ber-Le Moyne at different moments in time, students are given the opportunity to observe how people played, dressed and lived their daily lives. Throughout their visit, students experiment with toys in a historical setting: cup and ball games, dolls, jacks, spinning-tops, and many more!
Digging Up Stories
Cycle 2 and 3
Duration: 45 min - 1h
Accompanied by an educator, students visit the exhibition in the Maison Le Ber-Le Moyne. Together, they observe the archaeological objects uncovered on the site. Students learn about the daily lives of the site’s numerous occupants: First Nations people, fur traders, French families and British bourgeois. The activity concludes with a game, during which students interpret the evolution of material culture over the centuries.
The Fur Trade Adventure in New-France
Cycle 2 and 3

Audacity and adventure were the hallmarks of the fur trade era in New France. This role-playing game allows students to relive the days of the coureurs des bois in a historical building from that period. An engaging way to learn how First Nations peoples and Europeans conducted trade at Lachine.
