During its evolution, the Pointe-de-l’Île industrial area has been transformed several times and now offers major development possibilities. Discover the initiatives we are leading to pursue its expansion.

Covering an area of 30 sq. km., SIPI (Secteur industriel de la Pointe-de-l’Île) is located in Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles and Anjou, as well as the city of Montréal-Est. Autoroute 40 runs along the centre of SIPI, which is bordered on the south by Rue Notre-Dame, on the north by Boulevard Maurice-Duplessis (between Autoroute 25 and the intersection of Boulevard Henri-Bourassa and Autoroute 40).

The Secteur industriel de la Pointe-de-l’Île is one of the largest industrial areas on the island of Montréal.

The city seeks to do the following for this area:

  • Support economic development, by creating a mixed, attractive neighbourhood
  • Produce a common vision for land development (public space, land use and land coverage, green corridors. etc.)
  • Target possibilities for travel and mobility improvements
  • Determine sites to be decontaminated, strategic acquisitions, infrastructure to be built, as well as completion costs
