To ensure the success of Montreal’s Nightlife Policy, the city is setting up a dedicated round table. The table will bring together a diverse membership to reflect the range of players and skills that drive nightlife.

Mission of the Roundtable

The roundtable will play a leading advisory role. It will provide opinions and recommendations aimed at informing decision-making and will actively work to find solutions.

The roundtable will fulfil a threefold mandate:

  1. Support the implementation of the actions set out in the Policy to ensure their applicability, in compliance with the mission, competencies and capacities of each party.
  2. Promote dialogue between stakeholders to develop a clear and updated vision of the challenges and advantages of a nightlife ecosystem.
  3. Establish working groups on issues such as regulations, cohabitation with neighbouring residents, noise management, programming, social and community issues, development of the public space, etc.

Composition

The 32-member roundatable will have 2 co-chairs, 15 appointed members and 15 co-opted members.

It’s a 2 year volunteer commitment involving 4 meetings a year, 2 of which are in person. Members may also participate in ad hoc committees.
