Sainte-Catherine Ouest project: Notice of work operations of March 8, 2021

Underground infrastructure and development work is underway in the Phillips Square area. Here is what you need to know about the impacts and the alternative measures offered by the City.

Square Phillips and Avenue Union (Lot 2D)

Start date : March 8

End date : until the end of August 2021 (approximately).

Nature of the work operations

Reconstruction of the underground electrical infrastructure on Rue Place Phillips Street has been completed.

Reconstruction of underground infrastructures (water supply, electrical, telecommunications and gas networks) on Avenue Union is continuing. Permanent redevelopment work on Avenue Union will begin in spring 2021 and should be completed in late August 2021.

The park redevelopment work on square Phillips is continuing (expected completion in summer 2022).

Traffic obstacles

  • Reopening of rue Place Phillips Street between Cathcart and Sainte-Catherine O.
  • Complete closure of the intersection of Avenue Union and Rue Cathcart.
  • Local traffic only :
    - on Cathcart, between Robert-Bourassa and the western limit of the works;
    - on Union, between René-Lévesque O and the southern limit of the works (access by René-Lévesque O).

Impacts

  • Traffic obstacles
  • Temporary removal of on-street parking. Indoor parking spaces will remain accessible nearby.
  • Access to stores and buildings maintained at all times.
  • Noise, vibrations and dust.

 

The planning and scheduling of work operations can change based on weather conditions and unexpected work site contingencies.

The city is aware of the inconveniences that these work operations may cause and is taking all the necessary measures to minimize the impacts. Thank you for your cooperation.

Work schedule

Weekdays, daytime (7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) Possibility of work seven days a week (6.30 a.m.to 6 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. to 6 a.m.).

Impacts prévus

  • Entraves à la circulation.
  • Réduction temporaire des places de stationnement. Les espaces intérieurs à proximité restent accessibles.
  • Accès aux commerces et bâtiments maintenus en tout temps.
  • Bruit, vibrations et poussière.

Horaire des travaux

  • En semaine, de jour (7 h à 16 h 30)
  • Possibilité de travaux 7 jours/7, (6 h 30 à 18 h et de 18 h 30 à 6 h)

La planification et l’horaire des travaux peuvent évoluer selon les conditions météorologiques et les situations imprévues en chantier.
