The Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal (Montréal fire department - SIM for short) aims to protect people and property by responding as quickly as possible, anticipating risks, raising awareness among residents and acting with professionalism and respect.
Mission
The SIM helps to make the greater Montréal area even safer by being ready to deal quickly and effectively with any incident in order to save life, protect property and preserve the environment. The department responds to all types of emergencies, including medical emergencies, fires and citywide emergency measures, while pursuing prevention, education and civil protection initiatives among the public at large.
