Urban safety is one of Montréal’s top priorities, particularly in light of growing gun violence and criminal gangs. It is essential to maintain Montréal’s safety and improve its quality of life.

The creation of the Direction générale adjointe - Sécurité urbaine et conformité (assistant city manager’s office in charge of urban security and compliance) provides an additional lever with which to act on this critical issue with a trans-departmental vision and a prevention perspective.
