Bonnes Bonnes - Nervous Hunter

Date

Three women of Chinese descent watch a video adaptation of Jean Genet’s play Les Bonnes, where two maids plot their revenge against their mistress.

Description

In a mix of documentary theatre, onstage cooking and projections, the three friends talk freely. They reveal their feeling about Chinese identity, especially at a time when China’s financial and political power is on the rise. The women’s differences and tensions grow until a desire for revenge against racism comes to a head.
