Want butterflies and bumblebees?

Description

Krin Haglund from Jardin Buzz discusses ways to support and encourage biodiversity in your existing garden layout. Plus, we will look at each of these plants in the gardens around the Pierrefonds Library and discuss the best way to use them in your garden or balcony.

We will discuss planting for three flowering seasons, the importance of “host” plants and trees, and how to incorporate nesting sites into your garden plan.  We will discuss the plant species that are worth making space for to encourage the pollinators we love.
There are special considerations for “wild” gardens in urban settings. We’ll look at examples of best practice in designing urban gardens for pollinators. We’ll look at some inspiring examples. And we’ll discuss techniques for managing and planting highly beneficial but aggressive native plants. We’ll discuss methods for removing grass and look at different planting and management strategies, from clover lawns to wildflower mixes.

By incorporating native plants, you can enhance biodiversity and bring beauty and buzz to your garden!

Bilingual. For all ages.
