Description
Urmawi Ensemble offers a highly diverse musical experience, spanning from the Levant to Central Asia, by combining the Levantine Muwashah with the Iranian Tasnif. Works also emerge through the compositions of Showan Tavakol, inspired by Kurdish and Uzbek dances.
Under the artistic direction of Lamia Yared, singer and oud player, these antique repertoires from the 19th century come to life, distinguished by their exquisite poetry sung in both, Arabic and Farsi.
