Discover the creations of students from the contemporary acrylic painting and stone sculpture courses at the Cultural Workshops exhibition.
Description
The Cultural Workshops exhibition showcases the works of students from the contemporary acrylic painting and stone sculpture courses, two disciplines that explore material, movement, and expressiveness.
Contemporary Acrylic Painting
Under the guidance of experienced professor Svetla Velikova, students delve into the rich and dynamic world of acrylic painting. This medium, valued for its flexibility and fast drying time, fosters an experimental approach where layering, transparency, and textures interact to bring emotionally charged and sensitive works to life. The artist, whose creations transcend borders across Canada and Europe, supports her students in exploring the connection between painting and the human condition, seeking to unveil what escapes the immediate gaze.
Stone Sculpture
Under the direction of master sculptor Vasil Nikov, students learn to shape stone and extract its expressive essence. With numerous international exhibitions and works integrated into urban spaces worldwide, Nikov teaches an approach in which each material reveals its own language. Between experimentation and continuity, he encourages students to explore notions of space and lightness while remaining true to their artistic sensibilities. Here, stone becomes both the witness and the subject of a delicate balance between strength and finesse.
Through this exhibition, the students’ works reflect learning, experimentation, and artistic exploration guided by these distinguished instructors. A journey through fascinating techniques, from vibrant colors to sculpted forms, where each creation carries the unique imprint of its creator.
