Looking for some fun this summer? Lachine's libraries invite you to take part in the TD Summer Reading Club for 13-year-olds and under.

From June 15 to August 18, 2024, young people are invited to discover the world of 7AC41N3, a robot that is visiting Lachine. He comes from a planet 5 million light-years from Earth. This robot wants to get back there soon, but he doesn’t have enough stardust to fuel my flying saucer! We’re calling on the courage and generosity of young people in Lachine to lend a hand to 7AC41N3.

A storytelling trail to discover

As they follow the Sentier de contes (storytelling trail), children and their families explore a book page by page, on panels installed along the way. This year’s picture book is Plus noir que la nuit, written by Chris Hadfield (based on the astronaut’s childhood) and illustrated by the Fan brothers. Children will be able to discover the storytelling trail during Biblio-au-parc (library hours at the park) as well as during the activities of the Contes du mini-club (mini-club tales) on August 13 and 16. The trail will also travel to daycares and community organizations throughout the summer. Then, August 19 - September 5, it will be set up in front of Lachine’s two libraries.

Prizes and draws will reward readers’ efforts at the end of the summer season.
