Description
For relaxing or for working out, the Piscine John-Fitzgerald-Kennedy offers open swim times and aquatic activities.
Rules to follow
At home
- Pool access is prohibited for anyone with COVID-19 or who is in voluntary or compulsory isolation.
- Shower and put on your bathing suit before you come to the pool.
- No loan of equipment is allowed, including flotation vests.
- If possible, bring your own equipment if you are taking part in a water fitness activity.
- It is recommended that you bring and fill your water bottle.
Entrance and waiting line
- Listen to staff instructions.
- A reception clerk will evaluate your health.
- You must wash your hands before and after swimming.
- Wearing a mask or face covering is required for everyone over age 10.
- Comply with physical distancing at all times.
- Comply with all signage.
Changing rooms
- The changing rooms are accessible, but maximum capacity is reduced due to health and physical distancing measures.
- So that as many users as possible can use the changing rooms, please:
- Put on your bathing suit before you come to the pool.
- Shower at home after the activity.
- Wearing a mask or face covering is required from the changing room until the showers. Some aquatic facilities may require them between the pool and shower.
- To respect the distancing measures, some showers and dryers will not be accessible.
- One locker out of four is available,
Pools and wading pools
- Maximum capacity is reduced due to health and physical distancing measures and differs from pool to pool
- Comply with physical distancing at all times.
- Have your bathing suit on before you arrive and go to the designated area. Leave your personal effects poolside in the designated area.
- At the end of the activity, users must retrieve their belongings and wait until staff direct them to the changing rooms
- As changing room capacity is limited, the poolside area is a de facto waiting area. You must wait for pool staff to give you the go ahead to get in the water or go to the changing rooms.
Lap swimming
- The maximum capacity will be reduced to ensure physical distancing and will be different than open swim capacity due to the particulars of lap swimming.
- Each lane can accommodate a maximum of eight swimmers.
- Comply with physical distancing at all times.
- Visual markers will be placed every two metres to make distancing easier.
- Gathering at the end of the lane is prohibited.
