The Lévesque pool offers a variety of activities, including swimming lessons. 

Please note: The pool will be closed from March 25th to 28th for maintenance.

Open swims are also canceled during the Easter break.

Regarding the works from March 25th to 28th

The pool will be closed for maintenance in the changing rooms.

Easter Break

Open swims from March 29th to April 1st are canceled.

However, scheduled classes will still take place.

Aquatic activities

Stay active and enjoy the fall session’s aquatic activities at the Lévesque pool.

The course catalog is available online through Loisirs Montréal. To register to our activites, you need to create an account on Loisirs Montreal. To do so, you need a valid library card or recreation card.

Spring session

Registration from March 27 at 9 a.m.

The session runs from April 6 to June 17, 2024.

For those who would like to take private swimming lessons, the request is made by filling out this form (available in French). Requests are placed on a waiting list and processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Open swim

Access to open swim is free of charge. There is a set schedule for open swim periods.

Swimwear is mandatory for anyone wishing to access the pool.

Swimming caps are at the discretion of swimmers. They are not mandatory.

Children 7 years of age and under must be accompanied by a person 16 years of age or older. Children ages 5 and under must always be within reach of the person accompanying them.

The average temperature of the pool is 27 degrees Celsius.

It is possible to bring accessories on site (water toys, etc.), but the use of these remains at the discretion of the pool staff depending on the size of the items and the traffic in the pool.

On site equipment loans

In the shallow water area:

  • Pool noodles
  • Lifejackets

In the swimming lanes:

  • Pull buoy floats
  • Kickboards

The use of other accessories (slides, etc.) is reserved for guided water activities and classes.

Lap swim

Lanes for lap swimming are set up for open swim periods. 

The number of lanes may change depending on the swim period.

One lane is available for swimmers on:

  • Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Three lanes are available for swimmers on:

  • Monday from 3 p.m. to 4  p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 7:25 p.m.
  • Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 4:30 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • Thursday from 3 p.m. to 4:30 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Please note that, thanks to support from the government of Québec, the borough offers the Lifesaving Society’s training for lifeguards and swim instructors free of charge.

Universal accessibility 

The water lift chair is out of service and should be repaired soon. People who cannot access the pool alone will not be able to participate in aquatic activities.

Cancellation and refund policy

Transfers

Requests to transfer from one activity to another within the same session are permitted if received before the second class of the session, if space is available.

Refunds, cancellations before the start of the course

All requests for refunds when received prior to the start of classes will be refunded in full. Requests must be sent in writing to [email protected]. A $20 administrative fee may apply.

Expulsion, withdrawal

No credit notes or refunds will be given in the case of expulsion or withdrawal from a course.
