This program provides financial support to four kinds of events: 

• International events that are sanctioned by the international or intercontinental sport federation that usually holds the rights to events.
• International invitation events that do not belong to an international competition circuit, but that are nonetheless sanctioned by an international, intercontinental or national sport federation.
• National events that are sanctioned by the Canadian sports federation that holds the rights to the event and that are open to all Canadian provinces and territories.
• Metropolitan events with at least 1,000 participants that come from at least 17 boroughs or municipalities in the Montréal agglomeration. 

The program also accepts applications from sanctioned national and international events. This component of the program is for non-profit organizations that want to host a sanctioned national or international sports event in Montréal.

There are two deadlines for submitting applications for financial assistance under the support program for international, national and citywide sports events:

• 1st deadline: December 15, 2026
• 2nd deadline: April 15, 2027

Before submitting an application, organizers must complete an intention to submit an application form by December 15, 2026. 

Applications must be submitted using the designated online Microsoft form.

The city now uses an online Microsoft form and a secure upload portal to receive applications and documents. 

The online platform used in previous years has been discontinued. Please do not use it anymore.

To submit an application for financial support, applicants must:

• Complete the online application form below (in French);
• Upload the required documents to the secure upload area; the link will be sent to you automatically after the form is submitted.

Important: The online application form must be filled out in a single session. You cannot save it if you wish to finish completing the form later. 

A Word version of the form (in French) is available to help organizers prepare their application. It can be downloaded and completed at your own pace, then used to transfer the information into the online form when you are ready to officially submit your application.
