Digital library

Last updated May 13, 2026

Montréal’s libraries house a rich collection of easily accessible digital documents offered free of charge, including books, international newspapers and online courses. There are hundreds of options in multiple languages.

A library card is all that’s needed to connect free of charge to the digital library’s partner platforms.

Digital and audio books

You can read online using 3 platforms: Pretnumerique for books in French, Overdrive for books in English (also available via the mobile app Libby), and BibliOdyssée, a platform offering a selection of digital books adapted for dyslexic children and teenagers, as well as for young readers.

Movies and TV series

Myfilmfriend is a streaming platform for everyone, whether you’re a cinema enthusiast or just looking to explore. Dive into Canadian, Québécois, and international films, and discover French-language works along with productions from around the world.

Newspapers and magazines

Three platforms let you read newspapers and magazines from Quebec and elsewhere: PressReader and Eureka as well as view learned publications (Erudit).

Courses in languages, music, computing, etc.

You can take online training courses in practically any field via three platforms: Mozaik (previously Toutapprendre), Cybersec101 and Alphanumerique.
