Want to share the success of your gardening talents? The Bibliothèque Saul-Bellow of the Arrondissement de Lachine is now offering a place to exchange your pots of budding plants.

Starting April 22, on Earth Day, you can drop off and pick up garden cuttings in a glass cabinet located right next to the Bibliothèque Saul-Bellow counter. This new self-serve project aims to encourage the circular economy and is free of charge.

A few small guidelines have been put in place to keep our cuttings library neat and tidy:

Pot your cuttings in the ground. You can recycle yogurt containers and drill drainage holes in them.

  • The cuttings library is an exchange service and we want to have a good variety of cuttings. If you bring several pots of the same variety of plants, you will be able to take only one plant of another variety for yourself.

Would you like to learn how to take cuttings? We have some tips to share with you from the Green Pages of the Espace pour la vie website. We will also be offering activities at the library. Keep an eye out for our program of activities!
