Would you like to have access to Montréal’s open data? You can now consult, view and use the data freely through an online service.

Montréal’s open data platform contains more than 300 raw and royalty-free datasets. By publishing its data, the city is allowing it to be used for a variety of purposes, including commercial ones.

A user-friendly platform

The platform does not require any account creation, and access is free. The datasets are continuously updated and improved. The platform includes dashboards, raw data, tabular data and interactive maps. Users can consult the data without downloading it.

Montréal believes that open data is central not only to achieving its goals of transparency, but also to solving urban challenges. That is why the city is committed to making its data public.

What is a datum?

A datum is a representation of an information item, coded in a format that allows it to be processed by a computer. Data often come in the form of statistics or indicators that help better understand a situation or make an informed decision.

The city facilitates access to and the use of its data by publishing them, at no charge, in free-format, non-proprietary mode and by authorizing their use in any setting, even for commercial purposes.
