Replace your lead water-service entry: Montréal provides financial support

Would you like to replace your lead water-service entry (water line)? If you have other renovation work to do, you can get a grant from the city to replace your lead water-service entry.

Is the private part of your water-service entry made of lead or galvanized steel? You must replace it with copper pipes.

Financial support from the city

You can receive a $1200 grant to replace your lead service entry, under the RénoPlex program.

To be eligible for this program, you must apply for at least $3000 in grants. This means you’ll have to include other renovation work.

The grant must not represent more than 50 per cent of the actual cost of eligible work.
