Rue De Champlain project: news and impacts

Work underway in the Rue De Champlain area could have an impact on your daily life, particularly for travel. Find out what you need to know.

Work in progress

Rue De Champlain between Rue Sherbrooke Est and Rue La Fontaine will be revitalized. Reconstruction of underground infrastructure and redesign of the street are planned. In order to minimize impacts, the work will be done sequentially between June 2022 and October 2023.

Getting around during the project

  • Complete closure of the De Champlain/La Fontaine intersection
  • Local traffic only
  • Pedestrian access maintained at all times
  • Bicycle path closed Get off your bicycle and walk, or use the bike path on
  • Boulevard De Maisonneuve Est;
  • Traffic officers will be present to make it safe for pedestrians to travel and cross the streets
  • Continued access to École Garneau, school bus drop-off moved to Avenue Papineau
  • No parking near the work zone is available during this period
