Free swim, free skate and shinny hockey activities begin in September. However, due to COVID-19, online registration will be required until further notice.*
The number of participants will be limited due to COVID-19 as well.
The facilities are open to the public, but everyone must follow the pandemic physical distancing and hygiene instructions from the Direction de santé publique.
To prevent line-ups, those who wish to participate in the free swim, free skate or shinny hockey activities must register online ahead of time.
This will be mandatory until further notice.
*Except for the pools in the Centre sportif de Notre-Dame-de-Grâce and the Centre sportif de Côte-des-Neiges. These pools will function on a first come, first served basis. For the free swim schedules for these pools, go to the Loisirs Sportifs website.
Online registration will be done for activities in the following facilities:
- Doug Harvey Arena
- Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Community Pool
Registering WITH a library card or recreation card
For these activities, the online registration is done on the Loisirs Montréal website. Registration is mandatory and opens 48 hours before the activity.
To reserve a spot on Loisirs Montréal, you must log in using your montreal.ca account*.
*You must be a Ville de Montréal resident to reserve online. Non-residents can show up in person for the activity and will be allowed to participate if space is available.
Registering WITHOUT a library card or recreation card
If you don’t have a library card or recreation card, complete this form to get your Loisirs Montréal file number:
To request the creation of a Loisirs Montréal file, you must be aged 15 or older. If you are below 15, ask a parent to create a family file. The parent must first fill out this form. Next, using the member number received, the parent’s file can be created. You can then be added to the parent’s file.
