Infrastructure work on a section of Rue Décarie could impact your everyday life. Find out everything you need to know.

The work operations will consist of replacing the sewer and water supply lines and rebuilding the street and the sidewalks on a section of Rue Décarie. The lead water service lines will also be replaced on a section of Rue Tassé.

When

From July 2023 to spring 2024

Where

On Rue Décarie between Rue Rochon and Rue Tassé, and on Rue Tassé between Rue Décarie and Rue Cardinal. Look for the notices of work operations to plan your travel.

What

Remove the asphalt and the foundation and excavate
Repair or replace the sewer and water supply lines
Rebuild the street and the sidewalks
Replace the street lighting and the traffic lights

Why

Because the sewer and water supply lines have reached the end of their useful lives, they must be replaced in order to mitigate the risk of breaks and leaks.

While this work is being done, we will take the opportunity to improve the road surface and the sidewalks and replace the lead water service lines, if required.

These new infrastructures will:

Increase reliability across the network and ensure continuous distribution of quality drinking water in sufficient quantities.
Ensure safer and more enjoyable pedestrian travel thanks to the reconstruction of sidewalks and the addition of curb extensions at intersections.
Provide more efficient street lighting.
Ensure that the fire department has a more reliable and effective supply of water.
