1. Check your bin format
We only repair the 360-litre bins we have provided on certain portions of the street. Having your bin repaired is free.

To have a 360-litre bin repaired, call 311.
Give us the serial number (written on the side of the bin) when you call.
Your bin will be repaired at home within 10-15 business days if any of the following parts are broken:
- Lid plug and stem
- Lid
- Axle
- Wheel
The bin is not repairable in the following cases:
- The plastic tub or handles are broken, chewed, split or melted.
- The bin was damaged by the collection staff. You can file a claim.
In both cases, we can replace your bin.
While you wait for your bin to be repaired
Place the bin upside down near the front wall of the building, outside the fence. Black plastic bags can be used temporarily.
Once the bin has been repaired
A door hanger card on the bin indicates that it has been repaired.
Write your address on the bin using a marker. If your address fades over time, use a marker to write it on the bin again so that your bin is always identified.
3. Replace a non-repairable bin
To have a 360-litre wheeled bin replaced, call 311.
We will take your contact details and the replacement bin will be delivered to your address.
Give us the serial number (written on the side of the bin) when you call.
While you wait for your replacement bin
Clean your old bin and place it upside down near the front wall of the building, outside the fence. This will make it easier to identify. It will be recovered and recycled.
Black plastic bags can be used temporarily.

Write your address on your bin using a marker. If your address fades over time, use a marker to write it on the bin again so that your bin is always identified.
