In the event of a dog bite, you are required to contact the police department (SPVM).

The victim of a dog bite must also consult a physician or contact the Info-santé hotline (811), regardless of how serious the bite is.

The owner of the dog must:

• advise his or her borough within 72 hours;
• keep the dog muzzled at all times when it is outdoors;
• comply with all the specific guardianship conditions set out to ensure public safety.
