Report insect pests on public property

Last updated November 20, 2024

Some insects that have been reported on the island of Montréal are harmful or can be hazardous to your health. Have you seen a nest on public property? Find out how to report it.

If you notice insect pests on private property and the nest does not present immediate danger for passersby, we recommend that you contact an extermination specialist that is recognized by an accredited association such as the Association québécoise en gestion parasitaire (in French).

If you notice insect pests on public property or private property and the nest presents immediate danger for passersby, contact your borough so that an inspector can be sent on site. The inspector will evaluate your request and determine whether pesticides should be used.
