Description
The Division des Archives historiques de Montréal plays a vital role in the preservation and enhancement of the city’s archival heritage. It has a mandate to acquire, preserve, digitize and disseminate documents.
The Archives de Montréal site is the gateway to thousands of textual documents, photos, films, prints, maps and plans, and more. It includes :
- A blog, maintained by the Division’s archivists and offering thematic entries to the archives, covering the cultural, social and administrative aspects of Montreal’s history.
- Access to the archives catalog (In French), which includes full descriptions of historical archives and hundreds of thousands of digitized images.
- Access to other archive dissemination tools, including social media
