Recycling used batteries
Do you have rechargeable or disposable batteries that are no longer useful? Bring them to one of our drop-off locations for recycling. We also accept cell phone batteries.
Used batteries must not be disposed of in your household garbage or recycling bins under any circumstances.
Description
Place your batteries in the collection box at the drop-off point.
The batteries will then be picked up by a Québec government-accredited collector, sorted by chemical composition and sent to recycling facilities.
Batteries accepted
- Non-rechargeable batteries (alkaline, lithium, small sealed lead batteries, etc.)
- Rechargeable batteries (lithium-ion, Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, etc.)
- Batteries of any size weighing less than 5 kg (AAA, AA, C, D, 9V, button batteries, etc.)
Rejected batteries
- Lead-acid batteries, such as gasoline or electric vehicle batteries
- Wet batteries
Batteries with lead are often accepted by auto mechanics and garages. Check with them.
