Collections in Lachine: Sorting, Composting, Recycling
Do you know how to sort your household waste, how to compost and recycle? Do you know the collection schedules in Lachine according to your sector? To help you find your way around, here is a practical guide:
Household garbage and bulky upholstered items
Household garbage must not contain any recyclable materials (paper, cardboard, glass, metal and certain plastics), nor any food waste or green waste if you have organic waste collection service in your area.
Upholstered bulky items (sofas, mattresses, carpets, etc.) are part of the collection of household garbage and are picked up once a week. To find out your collection day, check online at info-collectes.
Your bins must be put out at the curb between 7 p.m. the night before and 7 a.m. on the day of collection, in order to keep the sidewalks and streets clear of unnecessary obstructions.
Construction, renovation and demolition debris as well as non-upholstered bulky items
Non-upholstered bulky items (e.g. appliances, furniture) as well as construction, renovation and demolition debris and large cardboard are collected twice a month. To find out your collection day, check online at info-collectes.
Le secteur 1 est situé à l’ouest de la 32e Avenue ainsi qu’au sud de la rue Victoria. Le secteur 2 est situé à l’est de la 32e Avenue ainsi qu’au nord de la rue Victoria.
