Do you bring your pet to a dog park? Please abide by the following guidelines when visiting a dog park.
Obligations
- Make sure your dog is wearing its tags.
- Keep your dog on a leash until you are inside the dog park.
- Supervise and control your dog, both outside and inside the dog park.
- Immediately pick up your dog’s droppings and place them in a trash can.
- Make sure your dog does not disturb the peace and quiet of the neighborhood—for example, if your dog howls, calm him or her down.
It is prohibited to:
- Bring more than two dogs at a time.
- Feed your dog.
- Use a dog toy or a stick in the presence of other dogs. This can lead to competition or aggression.
- Bring a female in heat, a dog presenting symptoms, or a dog that bothers the other dogs in the park.
Recommendations
- It is recommended that your dog be vaccinated and receive appropriate parasite treatments.
- Bringing children under 12 to a dog park is not advised, even if they are accompanied by an adult.
- Consuming food or beverages is not recommended.
- Snow removal must be carried out by the dog owners.
