Open or closed: Holiday schedule for offices, facilities and services

During the holidays, some Montréal facilities will be closed and some services may be offered according to different schedules.

Below is a list of Montréal facilities and services that will be open or closed on the holiday season, Easter (Good Friday and Easter Monday), Victoria Day, June 24 and July 1, Labour Day and Thanksgiving,

Holiday season

Collections of household waste, bulky items, recyclable materials and food waste will take place across the city, with the following exceptions:

Ahuntsic-Cartierville

Ahuntsic-District: Collections of recyclable materials are scheduled on December 26 and January 2. Collections of bulky items and construction debris are scheduled on January 2.

District of Bordeaux-Cartierville: Collections of bulky items and construction debris are scheduled on January 2.

Sault-au-Récollet District: Collections of recyclable materials are scheduled on December 27 and January 3. Collections of bulky items and construction debris are scheduled on December 26.

District of Saint-Sulpice: Collections of bulky items and construction debris are scheduled on December 26.

Collections of christmas trees will take place on January 8, 15 and 22 in all districts.

Anjou: Collections of bulky items on December 25 and January 1 are postponed to December 26 and January 2.

Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce: Collections of household waste and bulky items on December 25 and January 1 are postponed to December 27 and January 3.

Lachine: Collections of household waste on December 25 and January 1 are postponed to December 27 and January 3.

LaSalle: Collections of bulky items on December 25 are advanced to December 24. Collections of bulky items on January 1 are postponed to January 3. 

Le Plateau-Mont-Royal: Collections of household waste, food waste and bulky items on December 25 are postponed to December 26. Collections of household waste, food waste and bulky items on January 1 are postponed to January 2. Collections of recyclable materials on December 25 and January 1 are maintained.

Le Sud-Ouest: Collections on December 25 and January 1 are postponed to December 26 and January 2, or December 27 and January 3, depending on your neighbourhood. 

Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve: Collections of recyclable materials and food waste on December 25 and January 1 are postponed to December 26 and January 2. No collections of bulky items on December 25. Collections of bulky items on January 1 are advanced to December 31.

Montréal-Nord: Collections of household waste, recyclable materials and food waste on December 25 and January 1 are postponed to December 26 and January 2.

Outremont: Collections of recyclable materials and food waste on December 25 and January 1 are postponed to December 26 and January 2.

Pierrefonds-Roxboro: Collections of bulky items between December 24 and January 2 are postponed to January 3.

Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles: Collections on December 25 and January 1 are postponed to December 26 and January 2. 

Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie: Collections of recyclable materials on December 25 and January 1 are postponed to December 28 and January 4. Collections of bulky waste on December 25 and January 1 are postponed to December 26 and January 2.

Saint-Leonard: Collections of household waste, recyclable materials and food waste on December 25 and January 1 are postponed to December 26 and January 2. Collections of bulky items on December 25 are postponed to January 2.

Verdun: Collections on December 25 and January 1 are postponed to December 26 and January 2. 

Ville-Marie: Collections of recyclable materials on December 25 and January 1 are postponed to December 26 and January 2.

Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension: Collections on December 25 and January 1 are postponed to December 26 and January 2. 

Easter

Collections of household waste, bulky items, recyclable materials, food waste, green waste and dead leaves will take place across the city.

Ahuntsic-Cartierville: Collections of green waste and dead leaves will take place depending of weather conditions.

Victoria Day 

Collections of household waste, bulky items, recyclable materials, food waste, green waste and dead leaves will take place across the city.

Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day 

Collections of household waste, bulky items, recyclable materials, food waste, green waste and dead leaves will take place across the city.

Canada Day

Collections of household waste, bulky items, recyclable materials, food waste, green waste and dead leaves will take place across the city.

Labour Day

Collections of household waste, bulky items, recyclable materials, food waste, green waste and dead leaves will take place across the city.

Thanksgiving Day

Collections of household waste, bulky items, recyclable materials, food waste, green waste and dead leaves will take place across the city.

The opening hours remain the same, with the following exceptions:

Holiday season

  • December 24: 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • December 25: 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • December 26: 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • December 31: 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • January 1: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m
  • January 2: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m

Easter (Good Friday and Easter Monday): 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Victoria Day: 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

June 24: 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

July 1: 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Labour Day: 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Thanksgiving Day: 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Holiday season: Closed from December 24 to January 2 inclusively.

Easter: Closed Good Friday and Easter Monday

Victoria Day: Closed

Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day: Closed

Canada Day: Closed

Labour Day: Closed

Thanksgiving Day: Closed

The Biodome, the Biosphère, the Botanical Garden, the Insectarium and the Planetarium are closed on December 24 and 25.

Only cases of persons in custody will be processed in court during this period at the building on 775 Rue Gosford.

Holiday season:

The call centre and the municipal court main office will be closed December 24, 25, 26, 27, 30, 31 and January 1 and 2 inclusively. 

No applications for stays of execution between December 23 and January 3 inclusively.

The city’s administrative offices and borough halls are closed from December 24 to January 2.

Parking restrictions remain in effect on holidays.

Online services are available at all times if you want to submit an online request.
