Buildings of 9 or more dwellings
The organic waste collection is not offered to residents of these buildings. However, organic waste is accepted as part of the Household Waste Collection and Green Waste Collection.
Good to know
Organic materials include green waste and food waste and currently represent 45 percent of all waste generated by Montrealers.
Turning these materials into compost is a great way to beautify your neighbourhood and reduce the amount of garbage to be disposed of. Part of the compost produced is distributed free of charge to residents twice a year, in spring and fall.
To avoid being fined, please be sure to comply with collection schedules and conditions.
