Support for cultural and creative markets and showcases
Are you a cultural organization that wants to create an event aimed at the Montréal business community? The city offers financial assistance to produce a market that highlights cultural and creative products and boost their sales and exports.

Eligibility
The business event must take place between January 1 and December 31, 2024.
Eligible organizations
- Work in audiovisual production, publishing, video games, digital creativity, performing arts, music, visual arts and crafts or digital arts
- Be a non-profit organization that has been legally incorporated for at least two years before the date the application is filed
- Be headquartered in Montréal
- Produce a national or international business event in Montréal.
- Have the official support of the targeted professional sector or representative associations
- Report any partnerships and financial support agreements with the city and with the provincial and federal governments
- Have met its commitments related to previously allocated financial support and be in good standing with the various city services and the tax authorities
Ineligible organizations
- Organizations (including all their entities) that receive annual grants of more than $250,000 from the city
- Educational and vocational training institutions
- Sociocultural or leisure organizations
- Non-profit organizations applying for contributions for:
- Their operating budget
- Markets and showcases included in the programming of a festival, gala, competition, conference or convention, recognition evenings or award ceremonies
- Events that are primarily religious or political
- Fundraising activities
Eligible expenses
The maximum financial contribution is $45,000 and cannot exceed 20 per cent of eligible expenses. These expenses must be related to production, promotion and administration of the event.
Ineligible expenses
- Costs of stays outside Montréal
- Expenses linked to a portion of an event that is held outside Montréal
- Costs incurred after December 31, 2024
- Operating expenses, legal expenses or expenses linked to a past or anticipated deficit
Documents to provide
- Detailed presentation of the project (including the organization’s history and mission) and its budget
- Copy of the letters patent of the organization
- List of members of your board of directors, along with their role and duration of their term
- Resolution of your board of directors dated in 2023 designating the person authorized to sign any commitment related to this application
Evaluation criteria
Projects are evaluated by a committee made up of representatives from the city, and the cultural and business communities.
If several organizations propose a similar event, the city reserves the right to choose from among the projects submitted.

You have until 11:59 p.m. on February 2, 2024, to submit a project.
Information session
A virtual information session is scheduled for December 14 at 2 p.m.
