Public security

Last updated June 19, 2023

In boroughs where public security teams are present, they conduct preventive patrols in certain districts of concern. They help make the community feel safer.

Description

Public security services are offered in the boroughs of L’Île-Bizard-Sainte-Geneviève and Outremont. Their work is complementary to that of the police.

Patrols are conducted every day of the year to inform and sensitize the population on subjects such as:

  • Animals
  • Noise
  • Collection procedures
  • Vandalism.

There is a preventive patrol in vulnerable areas.

During their shifts, patrollers work to prevent vandalism and criminality. They inform the police department of any suspicious person or activity.

There are special preventive patrols in school zones and parks.
