RénoPlex: Grant amounts per type of work

Are you a building owner? Would you like to get financial assistance for renovation work? Here are the types of work for which we offer grants through the RénoPlex program, along with grant amounts.

Depending on the type of building you own and according to the criteria that you meet, you may be eligible for Block 1 or Block 2 work.

Eligible work

Block 1

Foundation
  • Excavate the soil around foundations: $140 per linear metre
  • Install a pile under a structural element: $200 per pile
  • Install a pile under a concrete wall (not a common wall): $450 per pile
  • Install a pile (with long brace) under a stone foundation wall (not a common wall): $600 per pile
  • Replace a foundation wall including piles (not a common wall): $650 per linear metre
  • Install a pile under a concrete common wall: $225 per pile
  • Install a pile (with long brace) under a stone foundation common wall: $300 each
  • Replace a foundation common wall with piles: $325 per linear metre
  • Repair a crack: $320 per crack
  • Waterproof a foundation: $50 per square metre
  • Insulate foundation walls from the outside: $5 per square metre and per R5 increment (Each additional insulation increment allows for multiplication of the per-square-metre grant amount.)
  • Install or replace an interior or exterior foundation drain (French drain): $40 per linear metre
  • Install a new sump pump in a new pit: $1,440 per building
  • Install or repair a window well: $300 per window well
Plumbing
  • Replace a lead water-service entry: $1,200 per building
  • Install a back flow stop valve, “normally closed” type, under an existing slab: $360 per valve
  • Divert the roof drain: $600 per building
Heating and air conditioning
  • Replace an oil-burning furnace with an electric furnace: $750 per dwelling unit affected
  • Replace an oil-burning furnace with a central heat pump: $1,000 per dwelling unit affected
  • Add a baseboard heater with a new heat pump system: $500 per baseboard
  • Replace an oil-burning water heater with an electric water heater: $410 per water heater
Electricity
  • Install a 100-A to 200-A electric panel: $470 per panel
  • Install an electric panel, 200 A or greater: $970 per panel
  • Electrical work to connect an electric vehicle charging terminal: $280 per dwelling unit affected
Garage entrance
  • Fill in a garage entrance: $9,000 per building
  • Add a speed bump to a garage entrance: $90 per building
  • Redo the garage entrance gutter: $150 per linear metre

Block 2

Foundation
  • Excavate the soil around foundations: $140 per linear metre
  • Install a pile under a structural element: $200 per pile
  • Install a pile under a concrete wall (not a common wall): $450 per pile
  • Install a pile (with long brace) under a stone foundation wall (not a common wall): $600 per pile
  • Replace a foundation wall including piles (not a common wall): $650 per linear metre
  • Install a pile under a concrete common wall: $225 per pile
  • Install a pile (with long brace) under a stone foundation common wall: $300 each
  • Replace a foundation common wall with piles: $325 per linear metre

  • Replace or restore brick cladding: $110 per square metre
  • Replace or restore stone cladding: $540 per square metre
  • Install new exterior cladding (except for brick or stone) including a cornice or mansard: $40 per square metre
  • Redo pointing on an exterior brick wall: $50 per square metre
  • Redo roof ridge, including cornices and mansards other than in shingles: $130 per linear metre
  • Insulate an above-grade exterior wall: $3 per square metre and per R5 increment (Each additional insulation increment allows for multiplication of the per-square-metre grant amount.)
  • Insulate the roof void or attic: $2 per square metre and per R20 increment (Each additional insulation increment allows for multiplication of the per-square-metre grant amount.)
Roofing
  • Install a green roof (vegetated roof): $80 per square metre
  • Redo a pitched roof: $20 per square metre
  • Redo roof, with a white membrane: $50 per square metre
  • Install rigid insulation on the roof: $2 per square metre
Windows and doors
  • Replace a fixed or operable window: $310 per window
  • Replace a skylight: $490 per skylight
  • Replace a door: $420 per door
  • Restore a wood door: $330 per door
  • Replace a door (with transom): $530 per door
  • Install a patio-door: $530 per door
Balconies, exterior staircases
  • Redo a balcony: $180 per square metre
  • Completely replace a staircase with a welded metal structure staircase: $100 per step
  • Replace a railing: $50 per linear metre
  • Replace a curved railing: $80 per linear metre
Plumbing
  • Replace a lead water-service entry: $1,200 per building

  • Install an electric panel, 200 A or greater: $970 per panel
  • Electrical work to connect an electric vehicle charging terminal: $280 per dwelling unit affected
Landscaping
  • Demolish a secondary building: $1,500 per building
  • Lay a vegetated surface or grass pavers: $500 per building
Garage entrance
  • Fill in a garage entrance: $9,000 per building
  • Add a speed bump to a garage entrance: $90 per building
  • Redo the garage entrance gutter: $150 per linear metre
