What is the court ledger? 

The court ledger, called “le plumitif” in French, is a digital registry of public court records through which the history of various civil, criminal and penal court cases can be accessed. 

The court ledger contains the following information:

  • Names of the parties 
  • Case numbers 
  • Contact information 
  • Dates 
  • Decisions

Consult a court record

Use the Société québécoise d’information juridique (SOQUIJ) Web site to consult online public records in the court ledgers of Québec’s courthouses and municipal courts.
