File a request to shut off, turn on or locate a water service line
Are you renovating your bathroom? Is a plumbing company scheduled to carry out work in your home? Don’t know where the exterior water service inlet is located on your property? Learn more about the steps to follow, based on the borough in which you live.
You must contact your borough to shut off and turn on the exterior water service line between your building and the municipal water main beneath the street. A water valve is also called a water service box.
Building owners are responsible for the water service piping systems that extend from their property to the valve located between their building and the municipal water main beneath the street.
Your borough can also help you determine where the water valve is located on your property, and have the valve levelled. Levelling the water valve may be required after repair work is carried out on a residential driveway entrance. Levelling also lets you ensure that the valve height is flush with the ground.
