Get a parking sticker for narrow street

Is there a “Narrow Street” sign on your street? Get a parking sticker to access parking spaces during snow removal operations. Learn how to get the permit.

During snow loading operations, this sticker allows you to park your vehicle: 

  • On the left side of the street, reserved for holders of the parking sticker for narrow streets, between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m.
  • In designated parking lots.

Offered free of charge in Le Plateau-Mont-Royal and Ville-Marie, this parking sticker, designated with the letter A, is valid during the winter until April 30.

This parking sticker is available year-round at your borough offices.

Designated parking lots for holders of this sticker:

  • Parking lot 139 of the Agence de mobilité durable (Rue Sherbrooke between Avenue Calixa-Lavallée and Avenue du Parc-La Fontaine), 113 spaces, between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.
  • Parking lot 270 of the Agence de mobilité durable (Rue Saint-Dominique between Avenue Bernard and Rue Saint-Viateur), 43 spaces, between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.
  • At the corner of Rue Drolet and Rue Marie-Anne, entrance on Rue Drolet (169159 Canada Inc.), 85 spaces, between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m.

1. Check your eligibility

In order to submit an application, you must be the primary driver of the vehicle and live on a street with a roadway narrows sign:

  • Berri, from Mont-Royal to Gilford
  • Berri, from Rachel to Marie-Anne
  • de Grand-Pré, from Gilford to Saint-Joseph
  • Drolet, from Square-Saint-Louis to Mont-Royal
  • Fabre, from Mont-Royal to Laurier
  • Henri-Julien, from Duluth to Mont-Royal
  • Hôtel-de-Ville, from Rachel to Mont-Royal
  • Resther, from Mont-Royal to Saint-Joseph
  • Rivard, from Roy to Mont-Royal
  • Saint-Hubert, from Mont-Royal to Laurier

How many stickers can you get?

Several people living at the same address may each have a sticker for their vehicle, provided each is the primary driver of that vehicle. The rate applied will be that of the additional sticker.

The sticker cannot be transferred, reassigned or refunded.

2. Gather the necessary documents

Please attach copies of the following supporting documents to your application: 

Vehicle registration certificate

If you are leasing your vehicle, also provide the lease agreement.

Company vehicles: Attach the registration certificate in the name of the company, along with one of the following two documents:

  • Proof of automobile insurance that names you as the primary driver of the vehicle
  • Letter from the company (with logo, vehicle description, dated and signed by the company president) stating that you are the primary driver of the vehicle

Proof of residence 

  • Insurance contract or excerpt of the contract that names you as the primary driver at the address which appears on your sticker application.

Provide a second proof of residence (less than three months old), with your name and address, from among the following:

  • Valid driver’s license or license renewal notice
  • Utility bill (Hydro-Québec, gas, telecommunication company such as Bell, Vidéotron, or other) showing your address
  • Invoice from a recognized educational institution showing your name and address
  • Monthly statement from a credit or financial institution
  • Monthly statement of investments from a trust or financial institution
  • Notice of change of address or proof of mail forwarding (sticker) from Canada Post
  • Employment Insurance statement
  • Québec health insurance (RAMQ) client card renewal notice
  • Correspondence from the municipal court

Please note that leased and municipal tax account statementsl are not accepted as proof of residence.

The designated parking lot for holders of this sticker is located at the corner of Rue Robin and Rue Beaudry, next to the Comité social Centre-Sud building, and is available between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.

2. Gather the necessary documents

Please attach copies of the following supporting documents to your application: 

Registration certificate

The certificate must be in your name. If not, attach a copy of the insurance policy naming you as the primary driver.

Company vehicles: Attach the registration certificate in the name of the company + an official letter from the employer (with letterhead) naming you as the primary driver and indicating the license plate number, the make, model and year of the vehicle, and your address.

The letter must be dated and signed by the owner or the company’s official representative. Handwritten letters are not accepted.

Certificate of automobile insurance

The certificate must show your name and address. If this is not the case, attach the insurance contract or extract of the contract that names you as the primary driver at the address that appears on your sticker application.

Proof of residence 

Provide two of the following documents (dated within the past three months), with your name and address:

  • Valid driver’s license or license renewal notice
  • Utility bill (Hydro-Québec, gas, telecommunication company such as Bell, Vidéotron, or other) showing your address (including the detachable part)
  • Invoice from an educational institution showing your name and address
  • Monthly statement from a credit or financial institution
  • Monthly statement of investments from a trust or financial institution
  • Notice of change of address or proof of mail forwarding (sticker) from Canada Post
  • Official documents from Revenu Québec or the Canada Revenue Agency
  • Employment Insurance statement
  • Québec health insurance (RAMQ) client card renewal notice
  • Correspondence from the municipal court

Note that a lease and address change requests from the Service québécois de changement d’adresse (SQCA) are not accepted as proof of residence.

Other documents

If you are an entrepreneur who owns the vehicle:

  • A copy of your file in the Quebec Enterprise Register (REQ) proving that you are the owner, the sole shareholder and the sole member of the board of directors.
