Report a lost animal

If you lose your dog or cat, call Proanima (514-379-2525) to report a missing pet and to know whether it has been found.

To recover your animal at the Proanima, you must:

• provide proof that you are the owner: purchase invoice, veterinarian’s invoice, tag invoice or photo;
• defray daily housing fees as well as fees for spaying/neutering, vaccination and microchip implantation, if applicable.

If your animal is not at a local shelter, it is possible that a citizen is temporarily housing it. It is therefore important to post a missing pet notice (including a photograph of your animal and your contact information) on a public notice board in your neighbourhood, where permitted.

You have 15 days to cancel your cat or dog license. If you find your pet within 30 days of cancelling your license, you can reactivate it free of charge.
