Report a lost animal

If you lose your dog or cat, call SPCA to report a missing pet and to know whether it has been found.

SPCA: 514-735-2711

To recover your animal, you must:

  • provide proof that you are the owner: purchase invoice, veterinarian’s invoice, tag invoice or photo;
  • defray the daily fees, if applicable.

If your animal is not at a local shelter, it is possible that a citizen is temporarily housing it. It is therefore important to post a missing pet notice (including a photograph of your animal and your contact information) on a public notice board in your neighbourhood, where permitted.

You have 15 days to cancel your cat or dog license. If you find your pet within 30 days of cancelling your license, you can reactivate it free of charge.
