Arenas and outdoor skating rinks
Wondering where you might teach your kids to skate? Looking for an outdoor rink to play hockey with friends? Enjoy Montréal’s arenas and outdoor rinks in city parks.
Municipal arenas are a great place to practice your skating. There are also more than 200 outdoor skating rinks, some of which are refrigerated. Depending on your needs, you can choose between team sport rinks and open skate rinks.
Arenas: Free skating is cancelled. Arenas are open only for certain school activities, school sport programs and high performance sport programs.
Outdoor rinks: The following activities can be practised by a person alone, people living at the same address or a person living alone, accompanied by another person. The two people must maintain a physical distance of at least 2 metres:
● free skating
● pick-up hockey (stick and puck only): on certain rinks
