Recyclables: Containers, packaging and printed materials, and newspapers
Are you wondering which materials you can recycle? Find practical information about recycling collections here.
Recyclables are not sorted prior to collection in Montréal. Cardboard, paper and plastic containers and packaging, as well as printed materials, glass and metal, are all picked up in the same truck. The sorting centre separates these materials.
Most paper and cardboard goes into your recycling bin. However, paper and cardboard with food stains needs to go in your brown bin if your borough offers food waste collection.
Out of respect for employees at the sorting centre and in order to maximize the quality of recyclable materials, please empty and rinse out containers and packaging that still have food inside.
