About this worksite

Where?

Two sections of Sainte-Catherine Street Ouest are under construction: 

• Between Peel Street and de la Montagne Street (since August 2025) 

• Between Mackay Street and Saint-Mathieu Street (since August 2025) 

Work is also taking place on Guy Street between Sainte-Catherine Street Ouest and René-Lévesque Boulevard Ouest. 

When?

On Sainte-Catherine Ouest, the work will take place in sections from summer 2025 to fall 2030. 

On Guy Street, the work will occur between August and the end of summer 2026. 

What?

Construction work will include the following:

• Replacement of sewer and water pipes
• Reconstruction and widening of concrete sidewalks
• Renewal of the lighting, traffic lights and telecommunication systems
• Greening of the area
• Installation of new street furniture
• Configuration of socialization and animation areas, as well as patios
• Work on underground public utility systems such as those of the Commission des services électriques de Montréal (CSEM), Bell and Énergir
• Reconstruction of the street using concrete pavement

Why?

The project aims to rehabilitate the ageing underground infrastructure system, to redevelop public areas to create more space for pedestrians, as well as to improve user experience. It also represents an opportunity to improve the living environment of the area’s residents.
