Various elements aimed at getting motorists to slow down, such as curb extensions, are used on certain streets. The borough does not install speed bumps.

If you believe motorists drive too fast on your street, please contact 311.

Citizens wishing to obtain a speed record for certain streets can make a request using this form (in French).

Steps

  • Our teams will install traffic counters on the road. Because these devices cannot be installed in winter, speeds cannot be checked during that period.
  • Depending on the results, your request to moderate speeds will be accepted or refused. It may take several weeks before you receive a response.
  • If your request is accepted, our teams will decide on the course of action to take: Marking the road, markers in the middle of the road, speed displays, bike path bollards, etc.

Once the elements are in place, sometimes we establish a police link if the speed problems persist (radar operations).
