A drop-off zone will not be authorized if access facilities already exist less than 12 metres away from the main entrance to the building:
- a sidewalk ramp
- a standpipe
- an area where parking is prohibited

The driver of a road vehicle carrying a person with reduced mobility may stop the vehicle to allow the person to enter or exit the vehicle, provided that it is safe to do so, as set out in the Highway Safety Code, Section 387.
