If you believe motorists drive too fast on your street, please contact 311.
Citizens wishing to obtain a speed record for certain streets can make a request using this form (in French).
Steps
- Our teams will install traffic counters on the road. Because these devices cannot be installed in winter, speeds cannot be checked during that period.
- Depending on the results, your request to moderate speeds will be accepted or refused. It may take several weeks before you receive a response.
- If your request is accepted, our teams will decide on the course of action to take: Marking the road, markers in the middle of the road, speed displays, bike path bollards, etc.
Once the elements are in place, sometimes we establish a police link if the speed problems persist (radar operations).
