Coronavirus (COVID-19) : Postpone your visit to the ecocentre until the end of the stay-at-home period, if possible. Please keep the materials you wish to dispose of at home.
The collection of bulky items (furniture, appliances, etc.) and construction, renovation and demolition (CRD) debris is offered throughout the year in your borough.
Only individuals and presbyteries may use this service. Schools, churches, embassies, non-profit organizations (NPO) and businesses must deal with a private company.
To find out the collection schedule, see Info-Collectes. Guidelines:
- A maximum volume of 5 m3 (176.6 ft3) per address is accepted (beyond this volume, you must call a private contractor).
- A maximum weight of 25 kg (55 lb) per box or container will be accepted.
- A maximum volume of 1 m3 (35.3 ft3) per object, except for household appliances.
- Clothes washer and clothes dryer doors must be removed.
- Objects for collection must be placed in a manner that does not endanger the safety of others (devoid of nails, screws, sharp metal edges, etc.).
- Glass and mirrors must be broken up and placed in safe, disposable containers.
- When rain is expected, please avoid using cardboard boxes.
- When snow removal is expected, please avoid putting out bulky items and CRD debris (to make snow clearing easier).
- Wooden planks must be fastened in bundles of maximum 1 m (3.3 ft) long and 50 cm (20 in) diameter.
You can also bring your bulky items and CRD debris to the écocentre nearest you. This includes refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners. If you would like the borough to pick up a refrigerator or freezer, you must call 311 for a special collection. These items must be handled with care so as to avoid letting the gas (halocarbon) escape through a broken pipe.
You can also bring your television sets and screens to the écocentre.
Some of these items can have a second life. Consult the répertoire des adresses du réemploi (in French) to find an institution or an organization near you.
Other drop-off points:
ERPA-Québec, Électrobac or OPEQ (electronic products and small parts)
