Guidelines

  • Maximum volume per address (per collection): 
    • Residential building with one to eight dwellings: 2 mper dwelling
    • Residential building with nine to 49 dwellings: 1 mper dwelling
    • Residential building with 50 or more dwellings: 0.5 mper dwelling. 
      • In excess of this amount, you must hire a private contractor. 
  • Maximum volume by object (except for household appliances): 1 m3 (35,3 ft3).
  • Maximum weight per box or container: 25 kg (55 lb).
  • Put out items in a way that does not compromise anyone’s safety. 
  • For safety reasons, remove the doors of washers and dryers. 
  • For safety reasons, remove all nails, screws and other sharp metal parts. 
  • For safety reasons, avoid using cardboard boxes when it’s raining (the cardboard gets soggy and falls apart, causing the contents to fall out).
  • Avoid taking out bulky objects and garbage when a snow removal operation is planned, as they can impede operations.
  • Attach planks of wood in bundles that are no longer than 1 m (3.3 ft) long and with a diameter no greater than 50 cm (20 in).
